Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase vs. Jerry Lawler and Hacksaw Jim Duggan
The WWE Tag Team Champions Rhodes and DiBiase come out first without their belts, as Cryme Tyme still have them from last week. Jerry Lawler’s music hits next and he comes out with Duggan by his side.

Lawler and DiBiase start the match out as the crowd is really behind Duggan and Lawler. DiBiase hits a big back body drop on Lawler. Lawler hits one of his own and they lock up again. Lawler hits a big right hand on DiBiase off the ropes and they go back to the corner. DiBiase tags in Rhodes who comes in and hits Lawler with right hands and kicks to the gut followed by a submission hold on the mat.

Lawler tries to fight back but Cody throws him back to the mat with an armbar. Nice suplex by Cody. Rhodes now backs Lawler on the ropes and taunts him, slapping him in the face. Lawler gets fired up and comes back with right hands. DiBiase comes in but Lawler hits him with a kick. They go off the ropes and DiBiase locks on the sleeper. Lawler tags in Duggan who comes in and hits big clotheslines and a big body slam on DiBiase.

Duggan hits his three-point stance tackle on DiBiase and pins him for a 2 count that Cody Rhodes breaks up. Lawler comes in and sends Rhodes to the outside. DiBiase hits one of his finishers on Duggan and gets the pinfall for the win.

Winners: Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase

After the match, Cody Rhodes gets on the mic and says they will come looking for Cryme Tyme to get their belts back. Cody says they commited a crime and last time he looked, you had to win WWE Titles and not steal them. He says they will never win a Championship. Cryme Tyme’s music hits and they’re up in the crowd with the belts. The fans are going crazy. They introduce themselves. They say it’s about time Rhodes and DiBiase put the titles on the line, so they borrowed them because they couldn’t get what they want. And what they want is a tag team Championship match at Unforgiven. DiBiase tells them they have no idea what they have got themselves into. DiBiase and Rhodes accept the match and it’s on for Unforgiven. DiBiase says they are going to take back far more than what they stole and it will be priceless. Cryme Tyme says, priceless? Did he say priceless? They call him a silly white boy and say nothing is priceless. They say it’s all about that money, money and the crowd breaks out in chant with them as Rhodes and DiBiase get pissed in the ring. Back to commercial we go.

Simply Priceless vs. John Cena

Before Cena hits the ring, Shad Gaspard distracts Priceless long enough for JTG to steal the tag titles!

Rhodes starts with Cena. Or not, they both decide to start. But the ref doesn’t allow that. We go to a…

Commercial.

Back from the break and Cena falls prey to the number games and DiBiase pummels him from the mount position. He gets a 2 count. Rhodes in and they hit a double suplex for 2 more. DiBiase in and hits a dropkick for 2 more. Rhodes in and they hit a double back elbow for another 2 count. Cena comes back but gets caught with a side Russian legsweep and a knee drop. DiBiase gets a cheap shot in. Cena fights back from the apron, but then gets shoved off into the guardrail. Back in and Rhodes gets 2. DiBiase in and fires off, but Cena comes back to boos. He misses a charge though and DiBiase hits a back suplex. Fist drop by Ted, followed up by a clothesline for 2. Rhodes in and they hit a double elbow drop for another near fall. More cheap shots from DiBiase. They keep Cena in their corner and continue to beat him down, but Cena fights out once more but gets caught from behind and covered for 2. Cena fights back again but misses a shoulder tackle and falls all the way to the floor. Rhodes whips Cena into the ring steps now. Back in and Cody gets another 2 count. DiBiase in and hits a snap suplex. Boots by Ted, suplex. Forearm by DiBiase, but Cena blocks a suplex and hits one of his own. Cody in but Cena blocks rights and fires off and now hits the shoulder tackles. Protoplex! You can’t see him. Five Knuckle Shuffle connects! FU attempt, but first he has to take care of DiBiase with a clothesline. STFU on Cody, and he taps!

Winner: John Cena

TED & CODY TAKE JEFF’S PLACE
F4Wonline.com is reporting that Jeff Hardy was said to have suffered a broken neck on Tuesday night when missing an appearance at Best Buy yesterday in Rockford. Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase replaced him at the signing. He also missed last night’s house show but no reason was given for his absence. It’s being said that on Tuesday there was no indication of Hardy suffering a serious injury in his match with Shelton Benjamin, but he came to TV with fluid in his elbow that wouldn’t drain well. He was pulled from the weekend house shows but is still scheduled to face MVP at SummerSlam at this point. We will continue to update you on Hardy’s condition as more details become available.

TED MENTIONED IN LANCE STORM INTERVIEW

Ted was recently mentioned in a question and answer session with Lance Storm on his official Site. Here’s what was said:

Q: I just read an online commentary by Ted Dibiase where he basically ran down the training and staff at OVW. He stated that he did not allow Ted Dibiase Jr., to train there because none of the trainers were ever main event guys. I was curious to your opinion on his comments.

A: His is not an uncommon view but I think it is a very miss placed opinion. I would rather be trained by say Brad Armstrong (who never main evented) than The Ultimate Warrior (who almost always main evented). Being a Main Eventer or having drawn money in no way qualifies you to train someone nor does not being featured in Main Events exclude you from being qualified to do so. You have to look at the individual’s skills and ability to train.

Backstage, Cody Rhodes says they respect history and they learn from it. He says they are a team, while Cena and Batista are not. He says they can’t stand each other and are filled with jealousy and egotism. They will take back their tag team titles. Ted says they are in their early 20s and their careers are further along than any Hall of Famers have been at that age. He says this time next year, it could very well be Rhodes vs. DiBiase in the main event of Summerslam. Tonight, they earn respect.

Its now time for the main event, Cena and Batista debate over who will start. Cena tags himself in and gets nailed from behind by both challengers. Cody fires off with elbows to the back of the head. Cody catches Cena for a 2 count but Cena comes back with a couple of shoulder blocks and the Protobomb. DiBiase gets knocked off the apron and Cena wants the Five Knuckle Shuffle, but makes sure to tell Batista that he can’t see him. Cena gives Batista a salute as we go to break. Back from the break, and DiBiase has Cena in a chinlock. Cena powers out and avoids a charge in the corner and Dave gets the tag! Big clothesline for Ted, followed up by shoulder thrusts in the corner. He runs into a boot thought but… SPINEBUSTER! Thumbs down to Cena! Bomb attempt, but Cena comes in and tosses DiBiase aside. Cody in and chop blocks Batista, and comes in and drops some elbows on the leg of Batista. Batista fights back but gets caught with a dropkick to the knee. Cody gets a roll up for 2. Cody gets caught and Batista hits a powerslam! Batista slaps Cena! Tag! DiBiase from behind knocks Cena into Batista and gets a roll up for 3 and the titles!

Winners: Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase

Cena wants Batista to get back in the ring. Face to face and they talk trash, but first they must deal with the new champions. Both champs get whipped into the steel steps.

RAW PREVIEW

At SummerSlam, John Cena and Batista face off one-on-one for the first time ever. On Monday night though, the two Superstars had to join forces as they faced World Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase. In spite of some infighting, and neither of these dominant competitors wanting to give an inch, Cena & Batista defeated Rhodes & DiBiase to become the new World Tag Team Champions.

While preparing to face each other at the Biggest Blockbuster of the Summer, will Cena & Batista be able to retain their gold? Can these rivals possibly coexist? We’ll find out this Monday, as the former champions exercise their rematch clause to face Cena & Batista once again, attempting to regain the World Tag Team Championship.
