SMACKDOWN PREVIEW

World Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase will square off with the newly-crowned WWE Tag Team Champions Carlito & Primo on the SmackDown All-Star Kick Off on Oct. 3 at 8/7 CT on SmackDown’s new home – MyNetwork TV.

Both young teams will look to walk away with bragging rights as arguably the best tag team in WWE. While Rhodes & DiBiase’s reign would normally give them the edge, the Colons have shown in a short time that their sibling symmetry is nothing short of solid gold success.

Which team will walk away from the SmackDown All-Star Kick Off on top of the tag team world?

Tune in when SmackDown moves to its new home on MyNetwork TV on Oct. 3 at 8/7 CT.

  • As Many Spoilers have suggested there would be a tag match between both tag title teams, now it’s been confirmed so be sure to check back here September 30th for Spoilers and on October 3rd for full results!
  • Also, i’d like to apologize for the downtime yesterday, it was beyond my control and i’d like to apolgoize for that and it more than likely won’t be happening again.

POWER 25 LISTING

TED DIBIASE & CODY RHODES
This Week: 11
Last Week: 10
The World Tag Team Champions may have been trying to step up their game recently, but this week they were made to look like fools by CM Punk and Kofi Kingston.

Also. Ted & Cody were was mentioned in Manu, who has fallen off the Power 25 Board. Here’s what the WWE had to say;

Manu – Manu falls off the P25 this week after not being in action. We feel that his association with the World Tag Team Champions won’t see him staying off the list for very long.

Digitals | Captures | HQ Match Video

While many Superstars are focused on No Mercy, some still have their minds set on Unforgiven. CM Punk had some words to share with Randy Orton because of the punt to the head he received courtesy of the Legend Killer, which ultimately caused him to lose the World Heavyweight Championship at Unforgiven. Despite the third-generation Superstar’s warning that anyone who touches him will be suspended by Mike Adamle’s decree, Punk hit the smug Orton anyway. Before the GM could suspend him though, Shane McMahon – the fourth-generation Superstar – “pulled rank” and reversed Adamle’s decision, then set a match between CM Punk and World Tag Team Champion Cody Rhodes.

Punk was victorious in the match-up, but directly afterward, Rhodes’ second-generation allies, fellow World Tag Team Champion Ted DiBiase and Manu, rushed the ring with ill intent. Before much damage could be done however, Kofi Kingston joined the fray, and helped Punk chase their adversaries from the ring.

TED DIBIASE & CODY RHODES
This Week: 10
Last Week: 12
The World Tag Team Champions have been looking to prove themselves ever since they heard Randy Orton’s speech few weeks ago on Raw, and they’ve been doing everything in their power to do so.

Also. Ted was mentioned in Manu, who has debuted on the Power 25 Board. Here’s what the WWE had to say;

With his alliance with World Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase, Manu has made a splash on the Raw scene and it is only the beginning of the young Superstar’s career.

Backstage, on their way to the ring Orton exchanges looks with Ted and Cody.

Continuing to prove that they have not only some of the most impressive bloodlines in the WWE locker room, but also the skills to back them up, the team of World Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase and Manu faced off against Kofi Kingston, Jerry “The King” Lawler and Good Ol’ J.H., who was really Charlie Haas disguised as SmackDown’s Jim Ross. Rhodes, DiBiase & Manu went on to defeat their opponents, perhaps in a show of force to Randy Orton, who they shared a cold glance with prior to their match.

The match ends with DiBiase pinning Haas after the Million Dollar Dream/Legsweep combo.

DiBiase Jr. emerges as legitimate star

They come along every few years. Those guys with the total package who have that rare and elusive “it” factor.

Not all of them, however, stand the test of time.

Brock Lesnar was tabbed as “the next big thing,” and he was well on his way to being that until he finally realized that professional wrestling was more of a job than a passion.

Randy Orton, a third-generation wrestler, has emerged as a legitimate superstar, and only a lack of maturity and untimely injuries have prevented him from being all that he can be.

Ken “Mr.” Kennedy, a one-time favorite of Vince McMahon, has been on the cusp of superstardom more than once, only to have injuries and out-of-ring issues surface at the worst possible times.

There’s one name on the current WWE roster worth taking a close look at over the next year.

They may not be impressing Randy Orton, but the World Tag Team Champions are certainly impressing us at The Academy. And, their new-found alliance with Manu may certainly prove to be priceless.

WRESTLING WITH THE FUTURE

MYFOX Tampa Bay has added a video about FCW and how it’s WWE’s development area. Ted is briefly featured in the video commenting on wrestling. Here’s what he had to say.

“Two days dosen’t even compare to what we go through in this ring, your body, the stuff we put our body through.”

Although Ted only said something short he can be seen through the video training with various other superstars, it’s definatley worth checking out.
