MovieWeb.com: Ted talks about The Marine 2

A follow-up to the movie that launched the film career of John Cena is about to do the same to another WWE Superstar. Ted DiBiase Jr., son of famed pro wrestling legend Ted “The Million Dollar Man” DiBiase, has followed in his father’s footsteps in the squared circle and he’s about to follow in the footsteps of Cena, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Mr. Kennedy and many others with his film debut in The Marine 2. We were able to speak with DiBiase Jr. about his first major film role and you can check out our exclusive video interview to see what this WWE Superstar had to say.

I’ve also added over 90 captures from this awesome interview into the gallery so of course, head on over and check them out.

Backstage, Triple H was shown walking down the hallway for his BTC match, but Ted DiBiase, Jr. blasted him in the left knee with a lead pipe out of nowhere. Hunter collapsed to the ground, then DiBiase walked off. Hunter sold an injury as they cut to break.
Suddenly, Ted DiBiase showed up on the ring apron and dared Hunter to hit him. Take a blow, Hunter! Get yourself DQ’ed! Hunter thought it over for a while, checked the clock, then shoved Cody into Ted to bump him off the apron. Hunter then grappled Cody for the Pedigree and connected. Time expired, though. Hunter was exasperated. Lilian announced ominously that Hunter failed to beat the time. Cody and Ted then celebrated on the floor while WWE stayed with the shot of Hunter frustrated in the ring.

It was also announced next week Legacy will take on Triple H in a 2 on 1 handicap match.

Screen captures are now up in the gallery. Sorry for the wait, enjoy!

In-ring, Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler introduced the show on behalf of the Raw brand. Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase came out to start the show and Jerry Lawler speculated that Jericho doesn’t have a partner because he doesn’t have any friends. Jericho then came out with two of the four title belts. Jericho took the mic away from Lilian Garcia before rolling tape of Edge’s ankle surgery. After the footage aired, Jericho said Edge is frail and selfish leaving him high and dry. “What about me? What about Raven…er…Jericho?” Jericho said he finally found a man worthy of standing next to him in this ring. Jericho said his name is… the Big Show. Show came out sporting a new look with possession of the other two belts. Sporting a full goatee, shaved head, blue singlet. Show milked his introduction into the match for a while. Eleven minutes into the PPV, the opening bell sounded.

Chris Jericho & Big Show vs. LEGACY aka Ted Dibiase & Cody Rhodes — Unified tag title match

Match started with Big Show working over DiBiase and Rhodes. Legacy then cut off Jericho once he entered the match and the crowd got behind Jericho, who played the default babyface in peril. Crowd looking for a reason to get involved in this, as there’s no one worth liking in the opening match. Definitely would not have picked this match to start, but Show’s in the U.S. Title match, so he needs a breather before pulling double duty. Cody busted out a moonsault for a two count, then Jericho tried to escape to Show, but DiBiase cut him off. Legacy went back on the attack. Jericho tried to counter with the Walls of Jericho, but DiBiase fought him off and went for Dream Street, but Jericho fought him off and went back to the Walls.

Power 25 Ranking

CODY RHODES & TED DiBIASE
This Week: 15
Last Week: 13
Being on the losing side of action in Raw’s main event can’t make The Legacy feel good, but we think if they can win the Unified Tag Team Championships, they won’t be too sore about the loss.

Ted Dibiase, Jr. Suits up for “The Marine 2″

By Suzanne Philips
Jul 23, 2009 San Diego, CA

WWE Superstar Ted DiBiase, Jr. stopped by the 2009 Comic Con in San Diego to promote his upcoming DVD release of “The Marine 2″. CFM News caught up with Ted and he filled us in on the details
CFMNews:
Is this the first time you have been to Comic Con?
Ted DiBiase: The first time, yes, and it is…absolutely insane.
CFM: So going from doing live shows every week (on WWE Monday Night Raw, Mondays 9-11pm USA Network) to working on a film, what was different about that?
TD: You know wrestling and acting, the film industry….they have their similarities. In wrestling there is a lot more physicality. Well there was a lot of physicality in this film. I did all my own stunts but when we are wrestling, it is more over the top. When you are playing to a live crowd, you are a little bit exaggerated. You know….a little bit more. And there are all of those millions of people who are watching on TV at home. And the camera, it catches your facial expressions. And that is something that you have to let those people at home feel – that emotion your face, whereas people in the crowd who are at the top of the arena, they have to feel it through your movements. Film is more here (frames face). Less is more. And that is something that I learned as the process of the movie went through and I really enjoyed it. The learning experience was just incredible. I think it helped me a lot with my wrestling, you know? Cause you understand the importance of exemplifying that emotion. This was my first film. I hope there is more, because it was so much fun.

Randy Orton came out on stage to interrupt. Cena started his promo by reminding Cena what happened two years ago: he punted Hunter in the skull and pinned Cena. Crowd tried to get under Orton’s skin, so he simply held up the title belt in the air. Cena interrupted Orton’s usual promo by saying he really wasn’t paying attention to Orton whining like he usually does. Cena said he was thinking music since ZZ Top is hosting. He referenced the line in Orton’s theme music that he hears voices in his head. Cena said it’s a little weird. He added that he hears 10,000 voices in the arena saying they want him to get a head-start on Sunday to pound his face into mush. Orton backed off and readied to go after Cena, but he heeled on him by slipping to the ring apron to avoid a fight. Orton slowly picked up his mic and told Cena to re-think that.

DiBiase and Rhodes suddenly appeared like two do-nothing henchmen and hopped on the apron. Cena just took his shirt off and told them to come bring it. Triple H’s music interrupted, though, and Hunter hit the ring to send Legacy cowering on the outside. The Big Bad Triple H Wolf scared the little piggies away and Orton slowly took his WWE Title belt away from the ring. Legacy stood on the floor as Hunter asked if the girls weren’t about to start a fight without him.
