Ted DiBiase Jr., son of wrestling legend Ted “The Million Dollar Man” DiBiase, has followed in his father’s footsteps in ring, but he’s now about to break out of his dad’s shadow by making his film debut in The Marine 2. At the time of the interview, he had only been wrestling for a year. Seven months into it, the WWE came to him with The Marine 2.
Listen to this interview with Ted as he talks about his acting debut, the differences between wrestling and acting (not much!), doing his own stunts.

As proven by their recent altercations, things are far from over between The Legacy’s Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase and DX’s Shawn Michaels & Triple H. At the first-ever WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, the two teams will have at it again – this time inside Satan’s Structure.
This announcement came just one night after Rhodes & DiBiase picked up the biggest win of their young careers by doing what nobody has ever done before: Make DX submit. In a brutal match at WWE Breaking Point, the two members of The Legacy applied duel submission maneuvers on HBK, making him tap out in an unprecedented Submissions Count Anywhere Match.
For months, Rhodes & DiBiase have tormented The Game at all turns, and it seemed with DX’s reunion and win at SummerSlam, that combination of Michaels and Triple H might be just what the doctor ordered to get rid of The Legacy plague.
That has turned out to not be the case as both Rhodes & DiBiase have proven that they are not to be underestimated and that they are both capable of standing toe-to-toe with the legendary pairing.
Now, with the steel set to surround the four ring warriors, all-out war will be waged in the Hell in a Cell – and only one pair can walk out victorious.
What team will reign supreme? Find out as the first-ever WWE Hell in a Cell event airs Sunday, Oct. 4, live on pay-per-view.
Backstage: Cody and Ted had big grins on their faces as they walked down the hallway. Ted vs. Shawn up next.
Ted DiBiase came out first with Cody Rhodes for a lengthy intro while the announcers talked up their victory last night. Cody and Ted took the mics. Cody asked the crowd…Are you ready? Where’s the fake big nose? Cody then asked the crowd if they’re ready to welcome a new era in WWE. He said the truth is they didn’t just beat DX, they made them submit. Cody said they made DX tap out. He lightly tapped a top turnbuckle to emphasize the point. Cody said The Rock, Steve Austin, The Undertaker, The McMahons, and …dare he say… Edge & Randy never made DX tap out. Cody said Legacy is the only group to make them tap.
Ted picked up that what they did last night was historic. He said they may have shocked the world, what they accomplished did not surprise them one bit. Ted said they were who they said they were. And they didn’t let them off the hook! Camera focused on a big dry blood spot on DiBiase’s ear. That’s going to be cauliflowered. Cody then said they will no longer be known as the sons of DiBiase and Rhodes. They are their own legacy now. Cue up their music. Backstage, they cut to Shawn and Hunter watching the promo on a monitor. Michaels wiped his mouth in frustration. Hunter was serious too. They started walking down the hallway with Michaels leading the way for the singles match up next. WWE doing a nice job getting as much mileage as possible out of the victory thus far. Cody and Ted stood firm in the ring, then DX’s music hit. Shawn and Hunter sternly walked to the ring. No shenanigans. No funny business. Ready for a fight.
Backstage, Josh Mathews brought in Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase to talk about their match against DX tonight. Cody repeated all of the talking points about the Submissions Count Anywhere going anywhere in Montreal, finding DX’s Breaking Point, they’re great, but we’re better, etc. Ted cut to the chase and said they’re going to make DX tap. He then grabbed some DX glowsticks. He said DX is like these glowsticks. They’re fun and entertaining, but after a while, that glow burns out. You lose interest. And then you throw them away. Nice, nice promo from DiBiase. Well done.
DX vs. LEGACY — Submissions Count Anywhere
DiBiase didn’t even have time to take his t-shirt off, as DX took the fight right to them after the opening bell. Hunter and Michaels targeted the left knee of their respective opponents to set up for a future submission attempt. Heels bumping around for DX early on here. Michaels took Cody over the guardrail to the floor as Lawler talked about WWE production crew having cameras all over the arena for this one. Hunter knocked both opponents around before the fight moved into the stands. Team 3D and Beer Money brawled up the Impact Zone…oh oh, wrong promotion brawl-through-the-crowd. Um, Michaels choked DiBiase in one of the railings. Meanwhile, Hunter took Cody to the concourse to smash him into a Molsen beer vendor station. DiBiase suddenly blind-sided Hunter as a crowd began to circle around the brawl. Loud “You Screwed Bret” chant toward Michaels. Both members of Legacy were then put in a figure four on the floor of the concourse. Not very sanitary, I must say. “Ole, ole, ole” chant broke out. Fight then moved back down the stands. I’ve always wanted to see someone body surf during a brawl-through-the-crowd.

Not only did Cody Rhodes nearly submit to Cena’s STF on Raw, but both Legacy members were chased out of the arena by DX at the end of the night.

Speaking of wrestling, but a completely different company, we caught up with third-generation superstar Ted DiBiase from the WWE to talk about their Pay-Per-View this Monday called Breaking Point – headlined by The Undertaker vs. CM Punk and DiBiase & Cody Rhodes against D-Generation X. After the jump, read the full interview – exclusive to Red Carpet Injection online!
When you’re brought up in a wrestling family, do you have a choice to be a wrestler or is pretty much expected?
I definitely had a choice and was actually encouraged not to wrestle because it’s so hard, and a hard life in terms of travelling, being away from your family and being on the road which is hard for your body – you’re sometimes wrestling every night of the week. Ever since I can remember, from a very young age, I’ve always wanted to wrestle and there was a stipulation from my father that I would graduate college because I even thought of it. So that’s exactly what I did, and he gave me his blessing – it’s not one of thse given things that you’re automatically going to get a job if you grew up in the business. You get a look, for sure, but you have to carry the load for yourself. But here I am!
The Marine 2 In Stores: Now! WWE Studios brings us Ted DiBiase as a military man whose idyllic trip to Thailand is interrupted when guerillas take over an isolated five-star resort, raising hell, killing hostages and demanding ransom, forcing the Marine to work while on vacation.
