Ted DiBiase then came out with Maryse. The problem with the pairing is DiBiase isn’t accepted by the fans as a top-line star yet and all eyes go to Maryse instead of DiBiase when they come to the ring. Cole said the rumor is DiBiase is upset he wasn’t picked to be part of Team WWE by Cena.
GREAT KHALI vs. TED DIBIASE (w/Maryse)
Khali landed an early chop to the chest on DiBiase, who then took Khali out by the knees with a swift dropkick. DiBiase then slowly picked up Khali, for some reason, rather than keeping him on the ground, which allowed Khali to regain control. Maryse then hopped on the apron to distract the ref and Khali, which allowed DiBiase to go back to work on the knee.
Nexus then walked out in the form of Barrett and Skip Sheffield. They circled the ring as DiBiase kind of stammered across the ring like a cartoon heel. Khali then came back with a chop to the head before slapping on the Vice Grip to squish DiBiase’s face like a grape. Maryse’s look of cautious indifference told the entire story on DiBiase’s character right now. Post-match: creative Raw editing. They randomly cut to a shot of Cole and Lawler talking on-camera while it appeared something else was going in the ring. They suggested Khali’s loyalties are in question, which meant more of a stacked deck against Team Cena.
WINNER: Khali in 3:00.
