WWE Smackdown is headed back to INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita Tuesday evening. The event features Randy Orton vs. Christian for the WWE Championship. Kane, Sheamus, Wade Barrett, Sin Cara and The Divas are all expected to be there, too. This is the third year the WWE has come to the INTRUST Bank Arena and Karl Man will have the story on why this event is a big hit in Wichita year after year.

RANDY ORTON vs. TED DIBIASE
Cody Rhodes walked out with DiBiase, as did Cody’s baggers. Rhodes said he performs miracles, resurrecting the IC Championship and the career of Ted DiBiase. Things started slowly, with DiBiase taking Orton down with a headlock, then a shoulder tackle. Cole and Booker nicely put over the IC Title. Leap-frog by Orton, then a dropkick. Both men were back to their feet, circling each other, and going back to square one. Clothesline by Orton. Snap-mare by DiBiase, then a boot to the face for two. Take-down by Orton, then a catapult into the corner. Big clothesline by the Viper. Thesz Press followed. Rhodes got on the apron to distract, and took a right hand from Orton. Randy went to ringside and to RKO Rhodes, but DiBiase broke it up with a baseball slide. They went to break as the commentary team was apparently shocked into silence by that move.

The WWE Raw World Tour threatens to pack out the Mississippi Coliseum Friday with tons of fans clamoring for the sort of sport that comes with a hefty dose of entertainment.Seeing it live just piledrives that home. “Until you’re there in person and can see the actual action and all theatrics that come with it, you truly don’t understand … the true thrill of the event,” says John Rings, 35, of Madison. “It’s basically filled with drama, it’s filled with suspense, it’s action-packed.” “It’s going to be huge,” coliseum box office manager Drake Elder says of the draw, with “the phone just ringing off the hook.”

A main attraction is John Cena, popular in this area, in a Raw challenge match with The Miz. Mississippi’s own SuperStar Ted DiBiase Jr., on the SmackDown roster, is making a special appearance in the Jackson show with the Raw brand.

DiBiase, 28, a third-generation wrestler, brings the legacy of dad WWE Hall of Famer “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase and grandparents “Iron” Mike DiBiase and Helen Hilde to the ring. “Now I’m carrying on the torch,” says DiBiase, who grew up playing football and soccer at Clinton High and Mississippi College. Upon graduation from MC, he was off to Missouri to begin training for this career. He’s been a pro for five years, with WWE for four, and has branched out to movies, too, with The Marine 2.

During SmackDown last Friday, Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase confronted World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton … sort of. Tired of listening to his former Legacy associates, Orton hit DiBiase with a devastating RKO, leaving him unable to compete in his scheduled match against Ezekiel Jackson. As for for DiBiase’s supposed “mentor,” Rhodes stood idly by, leaving his cohort at the mercy of The Viper.

This wasn’t the first time DiBiase suffered humiliation thanks to his faceguarded guru. Orton’s RKO was only the most recent in a slew of similar degrading moments, and it prompts the WWE Universe to ask DiBiase: Why are you putting up with Cody Rhodes?

Smackdown General Manager Teddy Long is in the ring and he is hollaing. He brings out the new World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton and he comes to the ring. Randy soaks in the applause and cheers before he speaks. He says that everyone is used to seeing Smackdown starting with Christian in the ring, whining and complaining and begging for that one more match. Orton says that he sure as hell isn’t Christian. Randy reminds us who he is and he tells us that he is the World Champion.

He says that he beat Christian so badly and so brutally at SummerSlam that he cannot even stand up to beg him for another match. Orton says that he used to respect Christian but then he started to annoy him and now he despises Christian with every fiber of his being. Now it is over. Randy says that he doesn’t want to talk about lawyers, lawsuits, and contracts. He wants to start anew. Teddy says that he will tell Orton who he will face next. It will be the winner of a twenty man over the top rope battle royal. Teddy is interrupted by Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase who make their way to the ring.
