TED MENTIONED IN LANCE STORM INTERVIEW

Ted was recently mentioned in a question and answer session with Lance Storm on his official Site. Here’s what was said:

Q: I just read an online commentary by Ted Dibiase where he basically ran down the training and staff at OVW. He stated that he did not allow Ted Dibiase Jr., to train there because none of the trainers were ever main event guys. I was curious to your opinion on his comments.

A: His is not an uncommon view but I think it is a very miss placed opinion. I would rather be trained by say Brad Armstrong (who never main evented) than The Ultimate Warrior (who almost always main evented). Being a Main Eventer or having drawn money in no way qualifies you to train someone nor does not being featured in Main Events exclude you from being qualified to do so. You have to look at the individual’s skills and ability to train.

These two Superstars certainly weren’t without gold around their waist for long. After losing the titles to two of the best Superstars in the company, the team regained gold just one week later on Raw.

Backstage, Cody Rhodes says they respect history and they learn from it. He says they are a team, while Cena and Batista are not. He says they can’t stand each other and are filled with jealousy and egotism. They will take back their tag team titles. Ted says they are in their early 20s and their careers are further along than any Hall of Famers have been at that age. He says this time next year, it could very well be Rhodes vs. DiBiase in the main event of Summerslam. Tonight, they earn respect.

Its now time for the main event, Cena and Batista debate over who will start. Cena tags himself in and gets nailed from behind by both challengers. Cody fires off with elbows to the back of the head. Cody catches Cena for a 2 count but Cena comes back with a couple of shoulder blocks and the Protobomb. DiBiase gets knocked off the apron and Cena wants the Five Knuckle Shuffle, but makes sure to tell Batista that he can’t see him. Cena gives Batista a salute as we go to break. Back from the break, and DiBiase has Cena in a chinlock. Cena powers out and avoids a charge in the corner and Dave gets the tag! Big clothesline for Ted, followed up by shoulder thrusts in the corner. He runs into a boot thought but… SPINEBUSTER! Thumbs down to Cena! Bomb attempt, but Cena comes in and tosses DiBiase aside. Cody in and chop blocks Batista, and comes in and drops some elbows on the leg of Batista. Batista fights back but gets caught with a dropkick to the knee. Cody gets a roll up for 2. Cody gets caught and Batista hits a powerslam! Batista slaps Cena! Tag! DiBiase from behind knocks Cena into Batista and gets a roll up for 3 and the titles!

Winners: Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase

Cena wants Batista to get back in the ring. Face to face and they talk trash, but first they must deal with the new champions. Both champs get whipped into the steel steps.

RAW PREVIEW

At SummerSlam, John Cena and Batista face off one-on-one for the first time ever. On Monday night though, the two Superstars had to join forces as they faced World Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase. In spite of some infighting, and neither of these dominant competitors wanting to give an inch, Cena & Batista defeated Rhodes & DiBiase to become the new World Tag Team Champions.

While preparing to face each other at the Biggest Blockbuster of the Summer, will Cena & Batista be able to retain their gold? Can these rivals possibly coexist? We’ll find out this Monday, as the former champions exercise their rematch clause to face Cena & Batista once again, attempting to regain the World Tag Team Championship.

They may have been beat by two of the best Superstars today, but losing the World Tag Team Titles is certainly not sitting well with these two young Superstars and they’ll surely be looking to get them back.

TED MENTIONS HIS SON

Ted DiBiase Sr was recently interviewed by Between The Ropes, and he mentioned Ted! Heres what he had to say.

DiBiase is proud of how his son, Ted Jr. has fared in WWE thus far, but is also sure to educate the third-generation wrestler on the pitfalls of the business. “I’ve told my son, I’ve said, ‘It’s about character and integrity. Walk up brightly, keep your nose clean, work hard.’ I said, ’I don’t care how talented you are – there are a lot of very talented people who ended up broke and dead, because in spite of their talent and in spite of how much money they made, because they had a lack of character, because they weren’t disciplined, they turned to drugs and alcohol and all those other things. They ended up losing everything and sometimes their life.’”
