After the match, a brawl erupted between The Animal and The Chain Gang Soldier.

- At Night of Champions, Cody Rhodes turned on his former mentor and partner Hardcore Holly to team with Ted DiBiase and defeat the veteran. A little more than a month of defending the titles, Rhodes and DiBiase lost the titles to Cena and Batista in a bizarre main event.
